15 pay steps are included in the pay scale between Step A and Step O. Step A is the entry-level salary after graduating from the Training Academy. The Step B increase is received one year after graduation from the academy. Each subsequent year after graduation, you will receive an additional step raise until top pay for the range has been reached. This pay plan is the base rate and does not reflect cost of living increases, overtime, longevity pay, education pay, or shift differential.
