Fiscal Affairs Section

The Fiscal Affairs Section is responsible for the development and management of the Department's operating and capital budgets, grants management, invoicing and paying bills, and ensuring the overall fiscal health of the organization. 

In 2011, the Department's operating budget was set at $74.5 million with an additional $2.7 million in funding available from grants. Fiscal Affairs also administers the City of Wichita Alarm Ordinance. Within Fiscal Affairs, the Payroll Unit ensures compliance with all City administrative regulations, develops methods for compliance with City, State, and Federal employee benefit rules, and ensures accurate timekeeping for the Department's 846 employees.
