Records Bureau

The mission of the Wichita Police Department Records Bureau is to manage all City law enforcement records throughout their lifetime, from generation or reception, clarification, review, validation, updating, storage and retrieval to final destruction or archival storage; to efficiently disseminate the documentation per Federal, State and local laws to law enforcement, criminal justice, government agencies, citizens and their agents; and provide Wichita Police and other criminal justice, government agents, citizens and their agents; and provide Wichita Police and other criminal justice agencies special policing support.

The Records Bureau is a 24-hour, seven days a week operation. These hours of operation are essential to provide the support needed for the Department as well as the community of Wichita. The Records Bureau is available by phone 24/7 and accessible to walk-in customers, 8 am to 5 pm (Monday through Friday).

In addition, the Case Desk Section (316) 268-4221, which takes reports over the phone, operates 24/7 and falls under the Records Bureau.
