The Administrative Services Bureau is part of the Support Services Division and is located on the fourth floor of City Hall. The Administrative Services Bureau overlooks many sections including Animal Control, City Hall Security, the Warrant Office, the Fiscal Affairs Section, the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), and the Explosive Ordnance Unit. The Administrative Services Bureau also houses the Information Services Unit which collects and tracks crime data in the city. This website and the statistical data are provided and maintained by this section.
The Warrant Office works with the Municipal Court and other local, state, and federal agencies to ensure that court documents are served in a timely manner.
The Animal Control program serves the citizens of Wichita with animal control, rabies control, and leash law enforcement services. In addition, the department provides the entire Sedgwick County area with animal bite investigations and quarantines biting animals.
The Fiscal Affairs Section is responsible for the development and management of the Department's operating and capital budgets, grants management, invoicing and paying bills, and ensuring the overall fiscal health of the organization.
The Information Services Unit serves as a support unit by providing statistical data (crime statistics), conducting research on current topics, and analyzing crime trends for members of the Department on issues that are affecting, impacting, or could affect Police operations.
