District 2 Advisory Board Meeting (DAB 2)

The District 2 Advisory Board meets on the 2nd Monday of the month (except for holidays) at Rockwell Branch Library, 5939 E. 9th St. N. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. Residents also have the option to participate in DAB meetings virtually via the Zoom platform or to watch them live on the District 2 Facebook page.

The DAB receives staff reports from the Wichita Police Department, Wichita Fire Department, and the Wichita Public Library; hears presentations from City staff and community partners; and votes on zoning cases. Meetings are open to the public, and resident feedback and questions are encouraged. The meeting agenda includes links to upcoming presentations and staff reports, and it is posted (below) the Friday prior to the meeting.

What is a Neighborhood Association?

A strong neighborhood is a valuable tool in maintaining healthy communities. Neighborhood organizations bring together people of diverse backgrounds, who share common concerns for their safety, properties, homes and community interests. Neighborhood organizations help City staff and elected officials identify and resolve issues and concerns in a particular area. There is strength in numbers - having a unified voice can make a difference.

What is a Homeowner Association?

An HOA is an actual business entity and normally is organized as a "Not for profit" organization. It is subject to all of the same filings that other nonprofit organizations are subject to including annual reports, tax returns and business classification. Many residents are unaware of the requirements of time and governance when they volunteer to serve their association, which may include notifying a neighbor that their dues check bounced.
