The City Council has approved offering 20-year special assessment financing - on a case-by-case basis in special situations for:
- residential developments with extraordinary development costs and
- existing Wichita residential neighborhoods without municipal services (sewer, water, storm sewers, paving).
The purpose of this program is to keep special assessment financing from creating a financial burden for buyers who purchase homes in developments that have incurred higher than typical development costs due to extraordinary development situations.
