Founded 1866, the University of Kansas has grown from the first class of 55 students to an enrollment of 28,500. Located in the heart of the Midwest, Wichita State University is a public research institution in Wichita, KS that offers a wide variety of majors and degree programs. Though the most popular areas of study are education, public health and mechanical engineering, Wichita State offers more than 200 areas of study. Incoming freshmen at WSU can be eligible to receive anywhere from $8,000 to $24,000 over four years for academic merit.

The Shocker City Partnership at Wichita State University provides discounted tuition rates to new students from certain areas in Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
Residents of the Denver, St. Louis, Kansas City, St. Joseph, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, Tulsa, Austin, Dallas – Fort Worth, Killeen – Temple, San Antonio or Waco metropolitan areas are eligible for in-state tuition rates. This means an undergraduate student enrolled in 15 credit hours per semester would save more than $37,000 over four years.
