Applicants (property owners) apply for a zoning case with the Planning Department. In some cases, applicants hire an agent to work on their case for them.
Planning Department staff review the case, and prepare a staff report/recommendation that is presented to the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission reviews and makes recommendations on planning cases to the governing bodies. For certain case types, the Planning Commission makes the final determination on the case.
