Fire Station Tours

Tour Your Neighborhood Fire Station!

The Wichita Fire Department welcomes you to tour YOUR fire stations. This is a great opportunity for firefighters to interact with our community and teach all ages about fire safety. A chance for children to ask questions, see how firefighters live, see firefighting equipment up close and learn what it takes to become a firefighter. Station tours last about 30 minutes.

Fire stations remain "in-service/available" for emergencies during tours.

  • If you arrive for your tour and find the fire station empty, the firefighters may have been dispatched to an emergency. If the firefighters do not return within 20 minutes of the scheduled time, the tour will have to be rescheduled.
  • During your tour, the station may be dispatched to an emergency. Therefore, it may be necessary for the tour to end and your group to exit the fire station.

Station tour guidelines we ask you to follow.

We request the tour be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Please provide an adequate number of chaperones. We recommend 1 chaperone for every 5 children.

Visitors must follow the direction of firefighters concerning safety rules during the tour. We are unable to accommodate any requests for birthday parties or other non-educational events.
