Individual and Family Development (IFD) Program

What is the Individual and Family Development (IFD) program?

The IFD program is designed to help families at each level so that they achieve financial independence. The caring staff provide individual attention as well as small group classes.

IFD is a comprehensive process through which clients establish goals and improve their abilities to reach those goals. This process results in stronger families, better communities and a reduction of barriers to obtaining self-sufficiency. The focus shifts from the "individual" to the whole family to achieve financial independence.

3 Principles of the IFD Program

EARN IT: Provide job training, readiness, placement, retention and advancement.

KEEP IT: Focus on coaching to assist families in strengthening their money management skills. Topics include: high cost of goods; asset protection; credit counseling and repair; predatory lending and others.

GROW IT: Focus on strategies to develop savings and build assets to allow families to pay off debt, establish credit, contribute to their children's education, and save for retirement.
