The Veterans Memorial Park Board - Wichita announces a Wreaths Across America ceremony to be held at Veterans Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 17 at Veterans Memorial Park, 339 Veterans Parkway.
Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad to honor veterans.
The event will include the playing of the National Anthem, recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and Posting of the Colors by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard.
There will be a special message from Col. Jeffery Locke, 184 Wing, Kansas Air National Guard, as well as a ceremonial wreath laying and a three-volley rifle salute by the Marine Corps League, followed by the playing of taps.
The public is invited to attend. Seating is limited and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
