The Wichita Fire Department’s winter recruit class held its graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. today in the Wichita City Council chambers at City Hall, 455 N. Main. The 17-member class completed 13 weeks of basic fire prevention, medical and firefighting training. Sixteen of the graduates are firefighters and one is an Airport Safety Officer.
Mayor Carl Brewer, Assistant City Manager Cathy Holdeman and Wichita Fire Chief Ronald D. Blackwell addressed the recruits who are listed below:
