Media are invited to visit Old Cowtown Museum between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday when more than 140 volunteers from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Communities-in-Schools will spruce up Cowtown’s buildings and grounds.
The event is part of Royal Caribbean’s 13th annual G.I.V.E. Day (“Get Involved Volunteer Everywhere”), which links its staff with local nonprofits to improve the quality of life in their communities. Saturday marks the fourth year that Royal Caribbean’s Wichita staff has helped Cowtown. Volunteers will plant vegetable gardens, help with cleanup projects and assist with painting and construction projects on several buildings.
Royal Caribbean also donated $2,000 to Cowtown, to purchase G.I.V.E. Day supplies such as paint, paint brushes and hammers.
