The City of Wichita is hosting a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification Training workshop from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. on Wednesday, May 12 in the Parks and Recreation Department Conference Room, 11th Floor of City Hall, 455 North Main.
The featured speakers for the DBE workshop are Rhonda Harris of the Kansas Department of Commerce, Office of Minority & Women Business Development; and Debra Hepp of the Kansas Department of Transportation, Office of Civil Rights, Topeka, Kansas. The Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas Department of Transportation are the sole two state entities that perform “DBE Certification.”
Attendance at this workshop is strongly recommended for disadvantaged, small, minority and women-owned businesses, particularly if your company anticipates bidding on the City of Wichita Airport Authority construction projects. The airport’s prime contractors will have DBE utilization goal requirements.
