A law enforcement graduation and swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center, 7001 W. 21st Street North.
The 2010 spring class features 14 Wichita Police Officers, an airport Public Safety Officer and five Sedgwick County Sheriffs Deputies who have completed 23 weeks of basic training at the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center.
The new officers will soon start 12 weeks of field training, which pairs them with veteran officers and helps them apply classroom training to practical situations. Graduation speakers include Wichita Police Chief Norman Williams and Sedgwick County Sheriff Robert Hinshaw.
A reception for graduates and guests will follow the ceremony. For more information, please contact Lt. Don Phelps at (316) 660-3810.
