In partnership with Sedgwick County, the City of Wichita and the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Kansas Army National Guard will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the Heartland Preparedness Center at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16.
The Center, located southeast of the intersection of I-135 and K-96, is a unique partnership between military, city, and county agencies, creating the nation’s first state-of-the-art local public safety and military reserve homeland defense preparedness joint facility.
