The City of Wichita’s 2011 Excellence in Public Service Award honoree is scheduled to be announced at 1 p.m. today at the Department of Housing and Community Services, 332 N. Riverview.
Excellence in Public Service Award winners are selected from thousands of eligible workers from the City of Wichita, Sedgwick County and USD 259. The honorees are surprised at separate times at their respective workplaces. The City of Wichita recipient will be surprised at 1 p.m. at an announcement that will include Wichita City Council members.
Today’s surprise announcements mark the 24th year of the Excellence in Public Service Award. Honorees demonstrate strong work ethic, high performance and a commitment to community. The DeVore Family will award each recipient a $2,500 check at a reception on May 12 at The Cowtown Visitors Center, 1865 W. Museum Blvd.
