The Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) will host its annual banquet at 7 p.m. today at Cowtown, 1865 West Museum Boulevard. Wichita City Council members are scheduled to attend.
MYC is the product of a partnership between the City of Wichita and the Wichita/Sedgwick County Regional Prevention Center at Mirror, Inc. Its mission is to provide Wichita youth with an opportunity to weigh in on community issues and learn about local government. MYC members are given resources to make decisions that affect their lives and futures as healthy adults. The Youth Council has raised support for local charities, advocated for legislation in Topeka and supported local events such as A Night with Santa.
