Mayor Carl Brewer’s Response to Announcement of T-WORKS Kellogg Corridor Projects

Contact: Dale Goter, Government Relations Manager |

Statement by Mayor Carl Brewer

The City of Wichita offers its sincerest thanks to Gov. Sam Brownback, Kansas Transportation Secretary Deb Miller and the Kansas Legislature for today’s announcement of significant transportation enhancements for our community.

Allocations from the T-WORKS program will bring long-awaited solutions to priority transportation needs on West Kellogg at I-235 and East Kellogg from the Kansas Turnpike to K-96.

Good things happen when local, state and federal governments work together. Over the past couple of years, the Kansas Department of Transportation made a good-faith effort to listen to the concerns of Kansas citizens during many hearings around the state. The input from those meetings is reflected in the Governor’s announcement today.

The big winners are Kansas motorists who will drive on quality roadways, and the Kansas economy, which will be strengthened by one of the best transportation systems in the country.
