When street reopens, traffic will be northbound-only until late summer.
Construction of a large drainage structure will require the closure of 119th Street West between Pawnee and Kellogg to all but local traffic, starting Monday through Friday.
During the closure, two-way traffic will be available for approximately a half mile south of Kellogg (to Dora) and a half mile north of Pawnee (to Jewell). Through traffic can use Maize Road or 135th Street West, which has recently been reopened by Sedgwick County.
When 119th street is reopened, it will carry north bound traffic only. Traffic will be restricted to one northbound lane until late summer, when one lane in each direction will be available.
The traffic restrictions are required for reconstruction of 119th between Pawnee and Kellogg. The improvements will provide two lanes in each direction, with a center turn lane. Drainage improvements, multi-use paths and landscaping on each side of 119th will also be provided. The paving work is expected to be completed this November.
