Storm water drainage improvement requires two-week detour.
Arkansas Avenue will be closed to through traffic north of 37th Street North beginning Tuesday. The closure is required for construction of three storm water drainage lines across the 4100, 4200 and 4300 blocks of Arkansas Avenue. The closure is expected to be in effect through July 15.
Traffic will be detoured to Broadway through 37th Street and 53rd Street. Local traffic will be able to access the Earhart neighborhood by way of 41st Street and 43rd Street.
The construction is part of a larger project to address drainage issues along Arkansas Avenue. The crossings are the final construction of the project.
