Due to the current economic climate, the Wichita City Council and Sedgwick County Commission directed staff members recently to consider ways to right-size operations, improve efficiencies, and become more sustainable in the future. A task team of city and county staff members reviewed certain functions where combined city/county community development efforts could reduce costs or increase effectiveness.
At 1 p.m. July 28 in the Sedgwick County Commission meeting room (525 N. Main, third floor), County Manager William Buchanan and City Manager Robert Layton will review those findings with media personnel, and provide further information regarding the effort to combine city and county community development services.
