Frontier Airlines Adds Bigger Planes at ICT

8/5/2011
Contact: Valerie Wise, Air Service & Business Development Manager |

Beginning August 15, Frontier Airlines will serve the Wichita-Denver route with the larger, Embraer 190 aircraft. This aircraft is configured with 99 seats and offers stretch seating in the front rows, providing an additional five inches of leg room to enhance the Frontier flying experience.

Frontier is adding the larger aircraft because of an increased demand for its service in Wichita. Frontier has increased traffic to the top western destinations by 23% and lowered fares to those top western destinations by an average of 29% since October 2007. Wichita travelers have access to approximately 335 daily departures and arrivals from Frontier’s hub at Denver International Airport. Frontier serves more than 80 destinations in the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica.

Frontier began serving the Wichita market in October 2007 with its Lynx subsidiary, which at the time used the Q400 aircraft. In April 2010, Frontier upgraded the service with the 76-seat Embraer 170 aircraft.
