The media are invited to attend the Wichita Flight Festival Media Day on Friday. Reporters and photographers should arrive by 11:45 a.m. at the Midwest Corporate Aviation front entrance, 3512 N. Webb Rd. to be taken as a group to the Colonel James Jabara Airport tarmac. Those who arrive after 11:45 a.m. must make arrangements to be escorted individually to the flight area (contact information listed below). Media are not allowed to go onto the tarmac without an escort. Practice flights begin promptly at noon.
Air show performers will be available for interviews after they complete their practice flights. The acts include: Doug Jackson, Wichita; Iron Eagle Aerobatic Team, Canaan, Conn.; Greg Shelton, Collinsville, Okla.; Ashley Battles, Augusta, Ga.; Kelly Pietrowicz, Midwest City, Okla.; Kent Shockley, Galena, Kan.; Mad Bomber Airshow Special Effects, Westminster, Colo.; Michael Rambo, Wichita; Manfred Radius, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Red Eagle Air Sports, Arley, Ala.; and Rich Perkins, Livermore, Calif.
The Wichita Flight Festival will take place this weekend at Jabara Airport. Gates open at 10 a.m. The free Saturday/Sunday daytime activities include aerial performances, a Kid’s Zone, Wichita Area Technical College Open House, radio-controlled demos and Fly Market vendor/education area. Admission is $5 for the Saturday night Twilight Air Show and Concert featuring “The Doors” tribute band, Peace Frog. Tickets may be purchased at WichitaTIX.com or at the gate. The first 500 people through the gates Saturday night will receive a free gift from Coleman.
