City of Wichita officials funded a cost-of-service analysis to study how costs are generated by different types of customers and how the City recovers those costs through rates. The study provided recommendations on rate changes, which are based on the long-term infrastructure necessary for providing water and sewer service. The recommendations have been reviewed by a customer advisory board and the City Council. City staff is meeting with citizen groups to explain reasons for possible revenue increases and provide operational data prior to any Council action.
