Bicycle Master Plan Meeting Today

Contact: Communications Team |

City of Wichita officials are asking residents to help identify ways to make getting around on a bicycle safer and more convenient. To encourage public input, City officials are hosting an open house from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. today on the first floor at City Hall, 455 N. Main.

Attendees will have multiple opportunities to provide input, including drawing potential bicycle routes, voting on priorities, and asking questions. Following opening remarks at 6 p.m. by Mayor Carl Brewer and Vice Mayor Lavonta Williams, consultant Peter Lagerwey will provide an overview of the planning process and examples of bicycle facilities.

Attendees should plan on arriving early and follow the posted Bike Plan Event signs. Security screening is required for all City Hall visitors.

Bicycle parking will be provided at the event. Bicycle racks are available on the bottom floor of the City Hall parking garage and at the north entrance to the City Hall atrium.

Free valet bicycle parking (like a coat check for bicycles) will be provided at the south entrance to the City Hall atrium (facing 3rd Street).

A flyer for the Wichita Bicycle Master Plan Open House and more information on this initiative are available at and on the project website.
