The public is invited to weigh-in on the recommendations for Douglas Avenue by participating in an online survey at: www.wichita.gov. Click on Douglas Avenue Plan Online Survey under the header City Spotlight.
Survey responses will be used to finalize a plan for Douglas Avenue from Washington Avenue to McLean Boulevard. The plan will be presented numerous community organizations and advisory boards in December and to the Wichita City Council in January.
Recommendations regarding the future design of Douglas Avenue in downtown Wichita were presented by Design Workshop, a landscape architecture and urban design firm based in Denver, at a public open house on October 27.
Developing a plan for the future design of Douglas Avenue is an initiative of the Project Downtown master plan and is sponsored by the City of Wichita, the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation.
