The Big Read – Wichita Concludes With Celebration of Asian Storytelling
The Wichita Public Library presents internationally-acclaimed storytellers Eth-Noh-Tec at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13 in the Central Library, 223 S. Main. “Bamboo Jamboo: Traditional Stories from Southeast Asia” is free and designed for all ages.
Founded in 1982 by Nancy Wang and Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo, Eth-Noh-Tec produces and performs traditional folktales from the many countries and cultures of Asia, as well as contemporary Asian American stories, through the spoken word, theater, dance and music. A kinetic story theater company based in San Francisco, weaving together distinctive cultural elements of the East and West to create new possibilities. Eth-Noh-Tec has performed at venues including the Smithsonian, Kennedy Center, and National Storytelling Festival for millions of cross-generational and cross-cultural audience members.
This event is held in conjunction with The Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
