The Wichita Police Department is investigating the vandalism of two downtown Wichita sculptures and the nonprofit Arts Council is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in the vandalism, City of Wichita officials announced Friday morning.
The sculptures were located across the street from each other in front of the Hotel at Old Town parking garage. The vandalism occurred over the Thanksgiving weekend near 2nd and Mosley.
Police patrols in the area have since been increased and the public is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 with information relating to the crimes.
Both pieces were made by sculpture Ann Zerger and were part of The Art Council’s annual Sculpture WalkAbout Project in Wichita.
