Joe Bonamassa presale tickets on sale Thursday morning.
Blues rock star Joe Bonamassa’s upcoming U.S. tour will include a stop in Wichita. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. tomorrow for the award-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist’s performance scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27 in Century II Concert Hall, 225 W. Douglas.
A child prodigy, Bonamassa opened shows at age 12 for blues legend B.B. King. Bonamassa’s recording career began in the early ’90s with Bloodline, a rock-blues group also featuring Robby Krieger’s son, Waylon, and Miles Davis’ son, Erin. His solo debut was in 2000 with “A New Day Yesterday.”
The one-night-only Wichita show is in support of his best-selling album “Dust Bowl” that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart and No. 37 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. It was his highest-selling and chart-ranking U.S. debut to date. Bonamassa will also treat fans to a very special sneak preview of songs from an upcoming solo album, due out in spring 2012.
“Dust Bowl” combines the gritty, blues-based tones of Bonamassa’s first albums with the fluid, genre-defying sounds he’s mastered in the years since. The music also has a dash of country from Bonamassa’s collaborations with the best of Nashville, including legends Vince Gill and John Hiatt.
Ticket prices start at $56. They can be purchased online at www.WichitaTIX.com, in person at Century II or by phone at (316) 219-4849.
