Tipping Fee Increases from $29 to $32 September 1
Effective Saturday, September 1, the standard tipping fee for general household and commercial construction and demolition (C&D) waste at the Brooks C&D Landfill will increase from $29 to $32 per ton. The increase is required due to rising operation and maintenance costs, and is expected to generate revenues sufficient to sustain current levels of service.
The Brooks C&D Landfill is owned by the City of Wichita, serves all of Sedgwick County and offers residents a convenient, affordable waste disposal alternative.
The landfill accepts:
- construction and demolition wastes, such as wood, plaster and masonry materials
- furniture and other bulky wastes such as couches, chairs, box springs and mattresses
- friable and non-friable asbestos containing materials (with special waste disposal authorization).
Visit wichita.gov, for an expanded list of acceptable wastes and a detailed schedule of applicable fees, or call (316) 722- 2405 for additional information.
The landfill is located at 4100 N. West St. (just north of K-96). Current hours of operation are 7:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and 8 am to 2 pm, Saturdays.
