The Wichita community and Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT) are ready to celebrate the first Southwest Airlines flights in and out of ICT. With the first Southwest flights beginning on Sunday, June 2, two events are scheduled.
On Sunday, June 2, please join us for an opportunity to capture the arrival of Southwest’s flight from Chicago.
Key activities include:
1:30 p.m.* Community celebration begins
1:45 p.m. Water cannon salute welcoming Southwest flight from Chicago
2:00 p.m. Passengers enter the gate 12
2:15 p.m. Special music in mezzanine
2:30 p.m. Southwest to donate tickets to a Make-A-Wish child
3:30 p.m. Selection of a winner, who must be present to win, for two round-trip tickets to any of Southwest Airlines’ destinations.

You’ll hear from Ron Ricks, executive vice president of Southwest, who will share his insight about the new partnership. Civic and business leaders will also speak about the positive impact of Southwest Airlines at Mid-Continent Airport.
