Award-winning singer/songwriter Mike Blakely is coming to Old Cowtown Museum as part of its 2013 Empire House Live! concert/theater series. The performance will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 19 in Cowtown’s Empire House Theater. Tickets are $15 in advance at WichitaTIX.com or $18 at the door. Nominated for 2013 Entertainer of the Year by the Texas Music Association, Blakely has toured all over the United States and Europe with his band. He records his original Americana/country/folk rock songs on his own independent record label. Blakely currently lives on his horse ranch near Marble Falls, Texas.
Blakely has recorded 11 albums, and his sound has been praised by MyTexasMusic.com as being “… truly Texan, harvesting the many cultural sounds and roots rhythms indigenous to the region. Mike Blakely has put together a gem that sparkles like the lone star itself.”
The Empire House Live! concert/theater series includes a lineup of local, regional and national performers representing many genres. Empire House Theater’s unique setting and intimate seating for 150 people gives Wichitans an up-close-and-personal experience with performers.
