Two public meetings scheduled to get input from residents

City officials today announced the addition of a second public meeting to get community input about street closures connected to walks, runs and marathons. Meetings will now take place in the daytime and evening to allow as much participation as possible. The two meeting dates are:

  • 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 9
    Meeting Room 101B
    Century II, 225 W. Douglas
  • 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13
    Meeting Room 101
    Century II, 225 W. Douglas

“We recognize the importance of events in our community, and we want to improve the street closure process for these types of events,” said John D’Angelo, manager of the City’s Division of Arts & Cultural Services.

During the meetings, City officials will share ideas and suggestions they have received from promoters and event organizers to lessen the impact on surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions.

For more information about the meetings, contact D’Angelo at 303-8600.
