Dogs are invited to try wading, paddling, swimming, or diving during the annual “Dog Days of Summer” scheduled from 5-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at College Hill Pool, 304 S. Circle Dr.
The event, sponsored by the Kansas Humane Society and College Hill Pool, allows dogs to experience the joy of swimming in a pool without chlorine.
Admission is a donation of $10 per dog (limit of two dogs per owner) with proceeds benefitting the Kansas Humane Society. This event also features a long-jump contest, Frisbee catch competition and the largest and smallest dog contest. Bradley Bones is providing free dog treats.
For safety reasons, owners may wade only knee-deep with their dogs in the shallow end of the zero-depth entry pool. Youth under the age of 18 are not allowed to handle dogs and may only go into the water at ankle depth. Dogs must be on a leash when not in the pool or participating in contests and they have updated vaccinations including rabies.
