In the Federal District Court of Kansas today, Sept. 17, a jury rendered a verdict in favor of a Wichita Police Officer who was alleged to have used excessive force.
In Rowana Riggs vs. Christian Cory, a federal civil rights case, the eight-person jury was unanimous in its verdict before the Honorable Judge Eric Melgren. The trial lasted three days.
Riggs claimed that Cory used excessive force in violation of her constitutional rights on April 9, 2007, when he arrested her for resisting arrest, evading and alluding and other traffic charges.
