Sculpture vandalized in Old Town
The Wichita Police Department is investigating vandalism to the “Hover” sculpture located near 2nd and Mead Streets in Old Town. Damage to the six-foot plaster, fiberglass and enamel sculpture was discovered today and reported to the City of Wichita. It is not known at this time when the vandalism occurred or the cost of repairs.
The public is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or the Wichita Police Department Investigations Division at 316-268-4407 with information relating to the crime.
“Hover” was sculpted by Nashville artist Jeremy Jones and displayed as part of the Sculpture WalkAbout Project sponsored by the Arts Council.
