Positive traveler feedback earns Cowtown TripAdvisor Award
For the second year in a row, Cowtown has been recognized for its hospitality excellence with a Certificate of Excellence Award from TripAdvisor. The award is only given to businesses that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website. Last year, Cowtown welcomed nearly 60,000 total visitors to its grounds, up from 50,000 in 2012. The Museum maintains a 4.5 traveler rating on TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor used the following criteria to select 2014 Certificate of Excellence winners:
- Traveler rating of 4 or higher, out of a possible 5;
- Volume and recency of traveler reviews;
- Business’ tenure on TripAdvisor and its popularity ranking.
“Cowtown is pleased to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence,” said Cowtown Director David Flask. “We strive to offer our visitors a memorable experience. This honor is evidence that our hard work is translating into positive reviews on TripAdvisor.”
TripAdvisor branded sites make up the largest travel community in the world, with more than 260 million unique monthly visitors and more than 150 million reviews and opinions. The sites operate in 39 countries worldwide.
Established in 1952, Cowtown is one of the oldest living-history museums in the Midwest. The Museum preserves our community’s history by immersing visitors in experiences that represent life in Wichita from 1865 to 1880. Historic Wichita Cowtown Inc. works in partnership with the City of Wichita to enhance and further the Museum and its mission.
Cowtown is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. This is the highest national recognition achievable by a museum that recognizes high standards in individual museums and ensures they continue to uphold public trust. Only 4 percent of the nation’s estimated 17,500 museums are accredited.
