Construction work will close road between Broadway and Hydraulic
Construction of new concrete pavement will close 37th Street North beginning 8 p.m. Friday, August 1, until 5 a.m. Saturday, August 2, weather permitting, Public Works & Utilities officials said on Thursday.
Thru traffic will detour to 29th Street at Broadway and Hydraulic streets. Local traffic will not be allowed east of Santa Fe on 37th and should use Ohio via 29th Street.
The $5.2 million project is widening 37th Street to a three-lane roadway. Construction is also providing area storm drain improvements. The project, which began in February, has a target completion date of spring 2015.
The Public Works & Utilities Department provides the design and construction of City infrastructure and ensures compliance with environmental regulations. The department maintains more than 5,000 lane miles of streets, 2,000 miles of water and sewer mains, and 5,700 miles of floodways.
