City officials announced today, Oct. 28, they are accepting applications for the Sales Tax Citizen Oversight Committee, which will monitor and review expenditures related to the proposed one-cent sales tax.
During a briefing at City Hall, Mayor Carl Brewer said the committee will include a cross section from the community and will be made up of 14 members. The members must be residents of the City of Wichita.
Each council member will appoint two members – one from their respective district and one at-large member. The Mayor will appoint two at-large committee members. Those who are interested should visit www.wichita.gov to fill out an application form. Applications and nominations will be accepted through the end of November. The City Council will finalize the nominations.
