Applications are now available for 2016 City of Wichita Arts Funding Grants. Now in its 10th year, the grant program recognizes, preserves and celebrates Wichita’s rich arts and cultural heritage – a heritage that has a tremendous impact on all residents’ quality of life. Last year the city awarded 29 organizations operational support that totaled more than $3.2 million. Applications may be picked up at the Arts & Cultural Services Division administrative offices, 225 W. Douglas (Century II Concert Hall entrance). Applications also may be downloaded online at WichitaArts.com.
The City is offering three different grant opportunities that are awarded through a competitive process:
- Cultural Funding Grants that provide operational support for qualifying 501(c) (3) non-profit arts and cultural organizations that significantly serve Wichita citizens;
- Developing Arts Grants that provide technical assistance for capacity building to arts and cultural organizations with annual operational budgets under $50,000; and
- Artist Access Grants that provide professional development support for individual artists.
Step-by-step instructions are included with the applications to make the process simple and consistent for all applicants. The City will host informational workshops that are required for organizations/individuals that wish to be considered for Developing Arts Grants and Cultural Funding Grants. The workshops will be held in Room 101B at Century II, 225 W. Douglas on these days:
