City of Wichita snow plows have been treating all 1,500 lane miles of primary emergency routes since 3 a.m. today including salt and sand treatment of bridges, intersections, hills, and curves.
Snow accumulation of less than one inch is expected through the remainder of the morning, and the area is expected to experience very low temperatures in the following days. The treatment of primary emergency routes is intended to prevent snowpack, which is more of a challenge as temperatures remain low.
