WPD Annual Community Safety Review

Interim Police Chief Nelson Mosley gave his annual community safety review today at City Hall. Chief Mosley outlined that crime is down 2.64% from 2013.

Mosley reported that burglary and thefts were down in 2014, while homicides, rapes, robberies were up. For a full video of the crime review, visit for more information.

Also, Deputy Chief John Speer discussed a new recruiting initiative and the department’s recently completed organizational assessment.

Deputy Chief Hassan Ramzah covered the homicide and gang statistics in depth.

Interim Deputy Chief Gavin Seiler provided an update on the Homeless Outreach Team, Field Service Special Assignments and the new Patrol Car Paint scheme.
