Wichita Park and Recreation will host its 7th annual Bunny Blast & Egg Hunt beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 28 at O.J. Watson Park, 3022 S. McLean Blvd. Children will have an opportunity to hunt for eggs with their own baskets and take a photo with the Easter Bunny. Admission is $5 per car load at the entrance gate.
The egg hunts will be divided by age:
• Ages two – four: 10 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.
• Ages five – seven: 10:30 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.
• Ages eight – ten: 11 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to take part in other activities at Watson Park including a jelly bean guessing contest, inflatables, miniature golf and train rides. They can also check out a variety of vehicles as part of the accompanying Touch a Truck event. Those activities are included with the entry fee and will be available until noon. Additional fees will apply to miniature golf as well as the train rides after noon.
O.J. Watson Park is a 119-acre site along the Arkansas River in south Wichita. The park includes a 40-acre lake for fishing and pedal boats. It also offers a variety of recreational opportunities such as miniature golf, train rides, pony rides, volleyball, and picnicking. Picnic shelters are available to rent by contacting Watson Park (529-9940) for availability.
