Media are invited to attend a sneak preview from 1 - 4 p.m., Thursday, April 9 of the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. The tour will include the terminal, parking and rental car facilities. Media outlets will also have the opportunity to interview members of the design team, as well as officials from the airlines, concessions and Transportation Security Administration.
There will be areas that are not finished when the media tour takes place. However by holding the event before completion, media will view areas of the new terminal that will be closed due to security restrictions after the building begins operations.
The media tour kicks off a week of events to celebrate the new airport facilities, which include an employee and family open house on April 10, a dedication event on April 11, and a community open house on April 18. Following are directions to the parking lot for Thursday’s media event:
- Heading south to the airport, take the General Aviation/Air Cargo/Park & Ride Lot exit;
- Continue straight past the Air Cargo Buildings until you come to a stop sign; and
- Park in the lot to your left where signs are marked “Media Parking.”
