Registration for the 2015 Wichita Junior Golf Foundation
program opens from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Monday at all five Wichita Public
Golf Courses.
The popular junior program, for ages 10 to 18, fills
quickly and space is limited. Parents are encouraged to arrive early on
Monday. Junior golfers can be registered by a parent, grandparent or
guardian. Please visit www.wichitajuniorgolffoundation.org
to print a registration form and medical release.
Cost of the eight-week session is $20. The fee covers the
expense of the green fees and instruction by golf course staff. Lessons
are scheduled every Monday, starting June 1 through July 20. Please visit www.golfwichita.com for golf course
locations across the city.
First-time youth must enroll in the Beginners Program at
L.W. Clapp (4611 E. Harry) or Auburn Hills (443 S. 135th St. West). The
Beginners Program provides instruction in rules and etiquette, chipping,
putting and the full swing.
Junior golfers spend their first summer going through the
Beginners Program at L.W. Clapp and Auburn Hills then advance to one of the
other three golf courses the next summer. The final day of the Beginners
Program features a 3-holes of play.
Founded in 1974, the Wichita Junior Golf
Foundation program has attracted more than 26,000 participants. The
program is run by volunteers and financed by businesses and individual donors.
