Contact: Brent Thomas, President, Wichita Parks Foundation |

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is proud to present the Independence Day Block Party on Saturday July 4th from noon to 10:30 p.m. downtown between the Hyatt Lawn, Lewis Street Bridge and west to Maple and Sycamore.

“When the Wichita Parks Foundation first announced the Independence Day Block Party Celebration, there was an immediate consensus among our team,” said Ben Simon, VP of Operations for Freddy’s. “It’s a perfect fit for our family-friendly culture at Freddy’s to participate in such a family-oriented event: A fabulous Independence Day Block Party capped off by the return of fireworks after a five-year absence. It’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our hometown of Wichita.”

This year’s event will feature a 1,000 foot water slip and slide created by Slide the City. Tickets range from $20 for a one time slide, $35 for three slides or $55 for VIP’s, unlimited slides all day. Tickets will increase by $5 starting May 5th and will also be available to purchase the day of event. To purchase your tickets go to

Connoisseur Media, including 97.1 BOB-FM and 100.5 The Wolf, will contribute to the Block Party atmosphere by providing the music for all of the activities throughout the day and along the riverfront. BOB-FM will also help close out the evening by providing music for the exciting fireworks finale.
