The City of Wichita has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the potential sale of the Hyatt Regency Wichita Hotel & Conference Center. The riverfront hotel - located downtown at 400 W. Waterman – connects to Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center.
A pre-bid conference and tour is scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 18 at the hotel. Bid offers are due 2 p.m. on June 22, said Assistant City Manager Scot Rigby, who manages economic development efforts. RFPs are being mailed/emailed to local, regional and national brokers, developers and hotel investors, Rigby added. The RFP is available online at www.wichita.gov/hyatt.
Built in 1995, the Hyatt has 303 guest rooms and suites. The hotel offers more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and conference space, two restaurants, a swimming pool and a 500-space parking garage.
