Construction of new storm sewer lines will close Meridian, south of Harry and north of Pawnee, beginning 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, weather permitting. Through traffic will detour to Orient Boulevard at Harry and Dora streets. Local traffic on Meridian will be open to Esthner and Dora for access to residential streets. Access to area businesses will be maintained.
The $7.7 million project is expanding Meridian, from McCormick to Pawnee, into a five-lane roadway and providing drainage improvements. The project, which began in January, has a target completion date of the summer of 2017.
