Street and storm water drain improvements will close Pawnee at Interstate 135 for approximately two months, beginning Monday, Sept. 19.
Through traffic will detour to Harry Street at Southeast Boulevard and Hillside streets. Pawnee will remain open to local traffic on both sides of the interstate. Eastbound Pawnee traffic will not have access to Interstate 135. Westbound Pawnee will have access only to northbound Interstate 135. Access to area businesses will be maintained.
Part of a $6.6 million project to widen Pawnee to a five-lane roadway, the project will reconstruct an existing sanitary sewer access structure and provide storm drain improvements. The project has a target completion date of fall 2017.
